Przyrzeczenie Lekarskie

Przyrzeczenie lekarskie, nawiązujące treścią do Deklaracji Genewskiej, składane jest przez absolwentów kierunku lekarskiego oraz lekarsko-dentystycznego uczelni medycznych w Polsce. Tekst Przyrzeczenia stanowi część Kodeksu Etyki Lekarskiej uchwalonego przez Krajowy Zjazd Lekarzy.

Przyjmuję z szacunkiem i wdzięcznością dla moich Mistrzów nadany mi tytuł lekarza i w pełni świadomy związanych z nim obowiązków przyrzekam:

obowiązki te sumiennie spełniać;
służyć życiu i zdrowiu ludzkiemu;
według najlepszej mej wiedzy przeciwdziałać cierpieniu i zapobiegać chorobom, a chorym nieść pomoc bez żadnych różnic, takich jak rasa, religia, narodowość, poglądy polityczne, stan majątkowy i inne, mając na celu wyłącznie ich dobro i okazując im należny szacunek;
nie nadużywać ich zaufania i dochować tajemnicy lekarskiej nawet po śmierci chorego;
strzec godności stanu lekarskiego i niczym jej nie splamić, a do kolegów lekarzy odnosić się z należną im życzliwością, nie podważając zaufania do nich, jednak postępując bezstronnie i mając na względzie dobro chorych;
stale poszerzać swą wiedzę lekarską i podawać do wiadomości świata lekarskiego wszystko to, co uda mi się wynaleźć i udoskonalić.

PRZYRZEKAM TO UROCZYŚCIE!

Doctor’s oath

I swear by the memory of all the creators and masters of medical knowledge of all mankind, especially the great people in this branch of knowledge and the benefactors of my homeland, that I will keep the obligations contained in this oath strictly according to my strength and abilities:

I will honor my medical teachers as well as my parents.
I will pass on all my knowledge and experience to my younger colleagues who signed the contract and were bound by this oath as medical law.
According to my colleagues, I will treat the sick for their good, as all those who are bound by the medical oath.
I will not give lethal poison to anyone, even on demand, nor will I advise anyone on it.
In my private and professional life, I will observe the principles of morality and will not stain my honor with any act unworthy of a doctor and a citizen.
I will enter any house as a doctor; my aim will be only the good of the sick, and I will never be guided by a deliberate improper act.
Whatever I see or hear in people’s lives during treatment or apart from treatment, which cannot be revealed, I will keep silent about it, treating it as a sacred secret.
Caring for the development of medical knowledge, I will never seek means and methods aimed at the destruction of humanity, but I will use all my strength to counteract them.

If I keep this oath and do not break it, let me gain prosperity in life and art and fame among people for all time; but if I break it, let the opposite befall me.
