Abbas met with Jews from Arab countries

Dr. Andre Gasiorowski (President of Helping Hand Global Forum) with the World Federation of Moroccan Jewry (WFMJ) delegation meeting President of Palestinian Authority – Abu Mazen (Mahmoud Abbas), at the Palestinian Authorities headquarters in Ramallah during Netanyahu’s sanctioned Israel / Palestinian Authorities governmental summit.
This event was inspired by King Muhammad the 6th of Morocco, who sent (Feb 2016) Sam Ben Chetrit – President of WFMJ, to set up a meeting between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in order to renew peace talks.
Such peace talks were initiated (2002) by the Prince Abdullah of Saudi Arabia at the Arab Summit Conference in Beirut, where the Arab Peace Initiative garnered support from 57 Arab and Muslim countries that were willing to offer full diplomatic ties in exchange for the creation of a Palestinian state, dialogue for peace, and strategy for the future.
Sculpture made for this special occasion was donated to President Abbas by Dr. Andre Gasiorowski on behalf of all WFMJ delegations during this event.
WFMJ is the umbrella for 23 organizations and city councils, with 70 branches in Israel and 31 in Morocco, Europe, and North and South America. It works towards the unity of the Jewish people and also has a scholarship fund from which scholarships are awarded to students of all faiths, ethnic and national backgrounds. Up to the end of 2015, WFMJ distributed 23 million NIS to 3640 students. Dr. Andre Gasiorowski has served as a WFMJ Honorable Board of Directors member since 2012.
Palestinian Authority President met with representatives from Arab countries, received a statue and referred to the peace process “is always ready to negotiate.” PA Chairman surprised when he said: “I listen to music all day Israeli”

יו”ר הרשות הפלסטינית נפגש עם נציגות של יוצאי מדינות ערב, קיבל פסל בדמותו והתייחס לתהליך השלום: “מוכן תמיד להיכנס למשא ומתן”. יו”ר הרשות הפתיע כאשר אמר: “אני מקשיב כל יום למוזיקה ישראלית”
מפגש לא שגרתי ברשות הפלסטינית. עשרות יהודים יוצאי מדינות ערב הגיעו אתמול (שני) למוקטעה ברמאללה כאורחיו של יו”ר הרשות אבו-מאזן.
יושב ראש הרשות זכה ליחס נלהב, כאשר רב מקריית-גת בירך אותו והפסל שמואל בן עמי העניק לו פסל בדמותו. במהלך האירוע, התייחס אבו מאזן לתהליך השלום ואמר כי “ידנו מושטת לשלום. אני רוצה לעשות שלום עם בנימין נתניהו ובמקרה שבו יחליפו אותו, נדבר עם המחליף”.
אבו מאזן הוסיף כי “במקרה שבו יהיה פתרון, ניפטר מטרור, דאע”ש ואל קאעידה”. יו”ר הרשות אף הביע בקיאות בתרבות הישראלית. “אני מקשיב כל יום לזמרים ישראלים”, אמר.
בסביבתו של אבו מאזן מבינים שהסיכויים למשא ומתן מדיני עם ישראל הוא קטן מאוד ומשלחות מסוג זה הן אולי פתרון טוב, לפחות מבחינת התקשורת ויחסי הציבור.
